The AWP-24 Wave Height Gauge was the first of Akamina's AWP-24 Series of Wave Height Gauges. It has since been superseded by the AWP-24-3. It is ideally suited for indoor and outdoor applications where high accuracy water level measurement is required and for unidirectional and multidirectional wave measurement. It provides an accurate, highly responsive measure of depth changes from sub-millimeter to meters. It comes in a rugged diecast aluminum alloy enclosure that allows it to be deployed indoors or outdoors.
Please note that the AWP-24 Wave Height Gauge is no longer available for purchase. The newest in the AWP-24 Series of Wave Height Gauges is the new AWP-24-3 Wave Height Gauge. Akamina will continue to support the AWP-24 Wave Height Gauge for our existing customers.
The Akamina Wave Height Gauge is designed:
- to monitor waves in hydraulic models and ship tanks
- to measure water level changes from sub-millimeter to meters
- to measure multidirectional waves and water surface geometry
- such that there is no interference when multiple probes are in close proximity
- for use in indoor and outdoor, and freshwater and salt water applications.
The AWP-24 Capacitance Wave Height Gauge uses digital techniques to measure wave heights and water levels. It provides guaranteed linearity and accuracy over a wide range of water and ambient temperatures; requires less frequent calibrations due to temperature stable electronics and probe head and it is designed so that multiple probes in close proximity in water have no interference with other probes or instrumentation.
The output stage of the AWP-24 includes a 16-bit digital-to-analogue converter. This provides a high-level +/- 5 volt analogue output signal that can be sampled using conventional data acquisition systems.
- no electrical interference with other probes or instrumentation
- measures capacitance digitally with no energy discharge into the water
- highly linear (0.2% over the measurement range)
- fast response time (the output is updated every 5 ms.)
- low power consumption (draws only 21 mA of current at 10 volts)
- filtered analogue signal output for data capture
- highly responsive measure of depth changes from sub-millimeter to meters
- guaranteed linearity and accuracy over wide range of water and ambient temperatures
- can be used in both fresh water and salt water
- rugged, die-cast aluminum, weatherproof enclosure
- easily configured using a digital volt meter or a data acquisition system.
- less frequent calibrations required due to temperature stable electronics and probe head
